Disney's Oscar-winning animated classic just got better - in 3D!

Still the most successful traditionally animated film in history, Disney's 1994 feature marked the high point of the studio's renaissance. Drawing inspiration from Shakespeare and the Bible, its timeless story follows lion cub Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas). He expects to inherit the Pride Lands from his father, King Musafa (James Earl Jones). But he reckons without his jealous uncle Scar (Jeremy Irons), who tricks him into going into exile. In the desert, the adult Simba (Matthew Broderick) finds himself near death from exhaustion. But with the assistance of meerkat Timon (Nathan Lane) and warthog Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella), he is inspired to reclaim his throne. Tim Rice and Elton John's great singalong songs, such as 'Circle of Life' and 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight', give the brilliant animation and great storytelling an extra boost. And in 3D, 'The Lion King' is even more immersive than ever.
You should see it because, This is a modern masterpiece as you've never seen it before!

Release date: 16 September 2011
Running time: 127 mins
Director: Tomas Alfredson
Starring: Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Hurt, Ciaran Hinds, Kathy Burke.

Gary Oldman and Colin Firth star in a classy adaptation of John le Carre's classic Cold War spy novel.
It's the 1970s, and mild-mannered former MI6 agent George Smiley (Gary Oldman) is struggling with forced semi-retirement when he's suddenly recalled. It seems certain that there's a double-agent working for the Soviets right at the top of the 'Circus' - MI6's HQ in London's Cambridge Circus. Smiley's task is to find out which of his trusted former colleagues has been betraying Britain at the highest level for so many years. He soon identifies four suspects, but a tangled web of friendships and rivalries muddies the waters. Acclaimed Swedish director Tomas Alfredson ('Let the Right One In') helms this new adaptation of John le Carre's magnificently plotted, twisting, turning espionage thriller. Its cast is practically an A-Z of great British acting talent, including Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Hurt, Ciaran Hinds and Oscar-winner Colin Firth.
Screenplay: Peter Straughan, Bridget O'Connor

You should see it because: It's a brilliant story with a to-die-for cast - already being positioned for awards season glory.
